It had simply become too much of a hassle to keep the saltwater aquarium inside the enclosure in addition to the krizel to maintain, so I had a Saturday entirely dedicated to a full cage clean. I had not really realized just how much substrate was stuffed in there until I had to pull it all out.
I also revamped my paludarium. The substrate had become gushy and wasn't draining properly, so I replaced some of it with gravel and added some rocks in the guppy side so that the new residents Wall-E and Eva could more easily hop between. They seem to have easily taken on the change from 10 gallons to 40 and now behave as if it is just the space they always needed. I also added a cage topper I had built a while back for a crab setup, and added some vents (just holes drilled with screen siliconed over).
